Antica Torino is the brainchild and longtime passion project of Liguria-based wine & spirits huntsman, Vittorio Zoppi, and Umbrian winemaker Filippo Antonelli.
The company, with the technical support and old family recipes of Paola Rogai, set out to offer traditional aromatized wines, liqueurs and spirits from Piedmont.
Paola’s great-uncle Carlin lived in the Monferrato area and worked for FIAT in Turin while making wine and vermouth from his family’s vineyards.
Updating this recipe from the 1940s for modern use, creating new recipes inspired by traditional ones all derives from constant work at the distillery and from continual experimentation and tasting, with the aim of creating products that are unique to the eye, to the nose and to the palate.

Starting out of sheer vocation with just 48 kg of apples and trying to turn what had until then been a youthful pastime into a real job, Master Distiller Giovanni La Fauci founded the GIOVI distillery in 1987, located in Valdina in the Messina area, with the intention of never giving up the continuous search for quality, never giving up the care and love with which he has, from the very beginning, dedicated himself to this work.
The selected raw materials come only from the best wineries on the Sicilian wine scene; the fruit is grown on the slopes of Mount Etna. The discontinuous still used for processing, an ancient ‘Zadra’, has been modified in some of its parts to be adapted to the requirements of a very slow wood-fuelled distillation.

Faedo 1975: Two young guys with two hectares and not many resources apart from great ambitions and some ideas. Their dream was to produce great wines and aquavits from local vineyards.
Mario e Firentino adopt a comprehensive approach, a system involving all the elements that have an impact on the final product. The project is the result of years of experiments, as well as extreme care and respect: from the plant and the fruit through to the wine and spirits.
After studying the Master Distillers in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France they applied their experience to local traditions with subtle innovations. The resulting spirits speak eloquently with fragrances and freshness unique to our artisan distillery.

For Giuseppe “Peppe” La Fauci growing up with a Master Distiller as a father and an equally burning passion was only normal that he would come up with his own project alongside the family now well establish distillery.
Taking inspiration from the best aquavit of Mexico and the Caribbean, Peppe started experimenting with the Prickly Pear plant aka Fico d’India. Native of central Mexico, it is now widespread and used in Sicily since the 16th century. It grows without requiring water and it is consider a gift from the gods, a manifestation of nature's magnificence that gives sweet fruits and fleshy leaves for many uses.
Santa Spina is an aquavit of prickly pear blades, representing and enhancing the resilience and versatility of this wonderful plant.
